Cervical cancer is currently the number one cancer killer of women in Ethiopia. We joined with our partner Sidama Cooperative to join in a partnership with Grounds for Health, implementing a community-based cervical cancer detection and treatment program. When we began in 2014, the program helped screen and successfully treat over 3,000 Ethiopian farm women in one year, thanks to the $203,000 we raised with Royal Coffee Inc. through the Roasters' Challenge. In 2016, the program is projected to screen and treat 13,500 women in 33 clinics in 23 districts across the country.
