Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday - what a whirlwind of a week it's been! We wanted to take a quick moment to give a shout to some of the non-profits to whom we donated on #GivingTuesday. Each a worthy cause, out of a couple (hundred thousand) worthy causes out there. It's hard to chose sometimes when donating your hard-earned money, so we wanted to share a few of the ones we have vetted and know to be doing good work, in a responsible, compassionate and effective way.
Peace Development Fund - This organization envisions a world in which all people live in communities that are economically sustainable, healthy and in balance with the natural environment. We absolutely do too, and we appreciate their approcah, which involves direct funding, advocacy and partnerships built around respect.
World Pulse - Like World Pulse, we also believe women hold the power to create global change. Through a powerful social network, this orgnaization connects women worldwide for change.
Honor The Earth - This organization uses indigenous wisdom, music, art, and the media to raise awareness and support for Indigenous Environmental Issues. Current projects include water protection, indigenous rights, and divestments.
Grounds for Health - We go way back with GFH, as we were a big part of their initial work in Ethiopia. Now they are expanding their cervical cancer screening and treatment programs to Gideo, another coffee-growing region in Ethiopia. And all donations will be matched, up to $100,000!
The Coffee Trust - Again, we have a long standing partnerhsip with Bill Fishbein and the Coffee Trust. We wholly support their vision - a world where coffee growing communities are prosperous.
Like I said, these are just a few! We donate to many organizations throughout the year locally, nationally and internationally. This is all in addition to the Development Projects we create and fund with our coop partners.
If you have other organizations you supported on #GivingTuesday and want us to check out, please feel free to email us!
Drink Deep,
