Certified B Corporation
WE'RE PROUD TO BE A CERTIFIED B CORPORATION®
Dean's Beans became a certified B Corporation® in October of 2018. B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems - the very concept we were founded on!
What is a B Corp?
B Corporations are leaders of the global movement of people using business as a force for good. There are over 2,200 Certified B Corporations from more than 130 industries in 50+ countried with 1 unifying goal - to redefine success in business.
Why B Corp?
This certification ensures our People-Centered Development business model and company values are legally a part of our company structure and legacy. Being a B Corp also means that Dean's Beans will always engage in socially just and environmentally responsible trade, and continue to take care of our employees and neighbors, our farmers and the earth.
The Certification Process
We were certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. The performance standards B Corps meet are comprehensive, transparent and verified.
To maintain our certification, we will undergo periodic reviews of our business practices and our impact on all of our stakeholders, including but not limited to our commitments to our farmers, communities, employees and the environment. This process is incredibly strenuous and thorough, and it forces us to reflect deeply on every aspect of our business. We commit to learning from this process, and to use our assessment report to identify areas for ongoing improvement, and to make those changes. That's the bottom line - to #BtheChange we wish to see in the world.

The B Corp Declaration of Interdependence
We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good.
This economy is comprised of a new type of corporation - the B Corporation - which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
As B Corporations and leaders of this emerging economy, we believe:
- That we must be the change we seek in the world.
- That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered.
- That, through their products, practices and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all.
- To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.
