Prasanna Ganapathi Farmer’s Foundation

Our robusta coffee comes from the Prasanna Ganapathi Farmer’s Foundation, a Fair Trade cooperative of around 100 smallholder farmers from Karnataka, in southern India. Nestled at 2,600 feet on the slopes of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO-recognized biodiversity hotspot, this region is the heartland of Indian Robusta, producing nearly 90% of the country’s supply. The climate and geography here are perfectly suited for coffee cultivation, and farmers have been growing organically for generations, long before certifications formalized their practices.
Our relationship with Prasanna Ganapathi is new, but full of promise. The cooperative already provides regular training on Fair Trade standards and organic practices, and we’re looking forward to working with them.
The coffee itself is as distinctive as its origin. Bold, full-bodied, and rich in character, with mild acidity and earthy-spicy notes, this Robusta reflects both the strength of the land and the generations of care that go into its cultivation. For us, every cup is more than flavor, it’s about building a relationship rooted in sustainability, equity, and the future of farming families in southern India.
